What to expect:
If accepted, you will be admitted to our orientation boot camp that starts two weeks before classes begin. The doors officially open to new members on August 1st, however everyone will need to be all moved in and ready to go by Monday, August 10th, 2015.
Starting on the 10th we’ll begin going through all the fun details about the house, getting any remaining introductions out of the way and spending some time getting to know each other. Expect BBQs and lots of hanging out.
On Wednesday the 12th, the fun begins. The founding members of iCLE will kick off the year by presenting three pitches for potential projects to work on for the next two semesters. After each pitch, there will be ample time for discussion but we won’t be voting on a winner just yet.
After discussion has ended on the last pitch, the members of the house will have the chance to present their very own ideas to win the opportunity to build them into a full fledged startup. This will not be a simple presentation, however, but an in depth pitch that would make the best of Shark Tank jealous.
Never done this before? No worries, that’s why we’re here to answer any questions and help you through the process. If accepted into the house you will receive an information packet on July 1st with instructions on how to put together your first pitch. No amazing ideas? No worries, just because you don’t pitch doesn't mean you can’t vote on your favorite project. We aren't concerned with having 4 pitches or 2 pitches. We’re concerned about having 1 well thought out process.
Before the end of the week on August 14th, everyone in the house will have voted for the project they feel will be the most successful. We will also bring in local entrepreneurs and startup experts to weigh in and give advice on our winning idea. After a consensus is reached the adventure begins and a roadmap to success will be built.
IncubatorCLE is going to be a unique environment: a group of inventors living under the same roof.
For this to work, you must be able to collaborate and contribute to a designated project or initiative that will be developed by the incubator team as a whole. Since our goal is to launch a business, you will be reporting your development and progress regularly to us (the coordinators). This means you need the ability to manage and execute your assigned tasks so you can contribute to the growth of the project and your team in the making of something great. To achieve this, you will be expected to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week to the house.
So. Are you ready?? Click below! Applications are only being accepted through May 29th, 2015!
